Hey tamers,

Similar to the Trading House feedback thread (Trading House - Feedback, hopes, fears and ideas), we're getting close to the moment of closing and implementing the achievements/trophies in Tetmem.

We already have some ideas we've been gathering from the team and from casual conversations on our Discord. But I wanted to make a last call of action in case anyone else wants to participate and give out their ideas.

If you feel brave enough you can throw ideas for specific achievements, including its name ("Feeling Lucky: Drop a WishYouWell Coin in each well."), but you can also give general ideas without going into that much detail if you prefer to.

Out of curiosity, is there a specific difficulty gauge that the team envisioned, and that we could receive, before making suggestions? I could easily say "Collect all of the luma entries", "win 500 PvP matches" but such achievements would be so out of range of most users so having an idea of what you might be looking for in quality achievements might help with suggestions.

That said, I have two opinions on achievements:
1) They should be meaningful - while fun achievements are cool (run 5000 meters) they end up just feeling 'automatic' and unfulfilling... and worse off at times a pain in the butt for collectors. I prefer hard to obtain achievements like the above so that, when you get them, you feel like you earned it.
2) A partial exception to the first, some should act as a guide to activities in Temtem. "Turn in a 5/5 Koish", "Catch a Saipark Temtem", "Complete your ranked placements", "Complete the Tempedia", "Breed a perfect Temtem yourself".

BulldozerIn a Ranked Match, deal over 50% to a Temtem with a resisted hit.
CalculatedIn a Ranked Match, survive an attack with 1HP and KO your attacker in the same turn.

There is a small problem with competitive match achievements imo. Basically, suddenly you have a bunch of people on ladder attempting 'strats' to get these achievements instead of playing the game competitively, which results in weird situations where a player is throwing to intentionally get max stat boosts, or worse, coordinating with their opponent out of game to farm achievements.

That said, reasonable stuff like 'purge doom from your Temtem' wouldn't impact the games played as much as, well, that's something that you more naturally do in competitive. Same with 'Taking You With Me'.

Yeah, I know. It's a tough balance to strike for sure and I think there is a place for achievements like this, but basically all I'm getting at is they can't be forceable by only one side. If there is an achievement for getting +5 all stats on one Temtem, you better believe that'll warp some matches, but if you do something like "Purge Doom from a Temtem", "Win with no KO'd Temtem", "Hit an opponent's Temtem with a 4x damaging hit when they switched in the Temtem that turn" all requires your opponent, who more than likely doesn't want to lose and/or make losing plays.

There is one i would like to see in the game, with a little RNG but also putting some "effor" on it:

Radactive: Successfully complete all the radars obtainable in the game.


(not sure about the name of the achievement tho KEKW)

If anything i think instead of achievements for competitive there should be weekly missions like play x amount of games or play x amount of games with y type

I'd say breeding achievements would be a good addition, like breed x different species with 7/7 SVs

Since Temtem is an MMO, I'd want to put the biggest focus of achievements into multiplayer interaction, such as:

- Having x amount of people in your friendlist
- completed x amount of trades
- started a co-op group
- played x amount of battles as co-op
- whispering x amount of times

etc...

I just hope there aren't too many focused on competitive. Having as few is fine but I hope the majority are about collecting, breeding, training, completing quests, and other challenges like Dojo rematches etc.

Have a combination of easier achievements and harder achievements. Obviously super dedicated people will have the highest number of achievements but casual play should net a nonzero number of achievements.

Make achievements per account rather than per character: If we earn achievements in nuzlocke mode, on a character that was reset, or on a second character slot, those achievements and any rewards should apply to all our characters (I play another MMO where achievements are character locked and unlocking hard achievements over and over becomes a chore).

Have a separate achievement for OT lumas in addition to all owned lumas.

If you want to do non-optimum battle achievements, dojo leader rebattles are a good place. Like defeat Tihani without landing a supereffective attack.

I'd like to see achievements for collecting x amounts of luma's, such as 25,50,75/100 luma's etc but only for OT luma's, with titles attached to each one. Could also have achievements for breeding x amount of temtem, or the more obvious ones such as reaching a certain level of TMR or winning x amount of ranked matches or winning one of those in-game tournaments.

I'm not particularly good with naming things though lol.

In my opinion one of the strongest points of TemTem are the secondary quests so:

- Complete all secondary stories(one for each island).

- Talk to every single npc(one for each island).

- Exploration achievements(one for each island/zone).

- Complete all the secondary stories as co-op party.

Fishmonger: Find every 5/5 type koish.
Lumapedia: Complete luma tempedia.
I remember it was harder: Win a dojo rematch without losing a temtem.
Decorator: You have furniture in your home that cost X(big) amount of pansuns.

This have a little more work. Every luma evolutionary line (With your OT) give you a title. Luma Loali Artra "Cherry",Luma Osukai Artra "Strong", Luma Pigepic "Friendly" Artra, Luma Nydrasil Artra "Apothecary" and so on.

Trophies
For Fishmonger : A golden Rod with a koish statue for home. (Also, a buff for your fishing of some kind).
For Lumapedia : A rainbow lluma star statue.

I'm a bit afraid of such Achievements to be honest. That would just lead to having people spamming you (with trades or friends requests) every day just to get the achievements.

Imo, achievements should be "casual" oriented, with a handful more hardcore. There could be, as in WoW, "chains" of achievements. Obtain 1 Luma, then 10, then 50, then all of them.

I hope there will be plenty of titles coming with Achievements.
For example, leveling all the Tems of one Island would grant you a related title (e.g. Denizan, Tucmani...). Could also be a title for leveling to max level all Tems of one given type (Fire bender ? :D ).
Of course, there could be a top-level title for the elite, when you get all Luma versions of one Island / one Type (Denizan master or some edgy stuff like that).

Then there could be totally fun achievements, but for those ones I'm a bit afraid, as TMTrainer said, they'll become more of a chore than something really fun. Running X miles, jumping over a barricade X times, interact with your temtem X times...

I also would be in favor of at least a few Achievements involving the Original Tamer. Having an achievement being "Collect X/all Luma" is great and all, but that just pushes you toward buying them. There could be a second achievement (or the next step of this one) to "Collect X/all Luma with Original Tamer". And obviously same for the Perfect Tems, I'm not a breeder but at least I'd be incentivized to try.
I would really dislike that all "elite" achievements just become a money problem, and you feel like you're wasting time farming by yourself when you could just buy them.

Edit for people who don't know about WoW's system, Achievements are like this. Some are "series" (as the Quests one), some have other achievements as criteria (i.e. Battlemaster below).

"Fedex delivery man": do 7 daily quest in a week
"interior designer": put 30 furnitures in the house
"hen": breed 100 temtems
"perfectionist": breed a perfect temtem
"legendary": be the OT of a perfect luma
"terrible mistake": run away a luma - (to win: a facepalm emote)
