Make the twitch ads an opt in setting

Advertisements like this really don't belong in the game imo but if they are something expected to stay they need to be something that people can choose to view or not. It's already weird to expect that people will want to load into the game to see an ad that would direct them away from the game.

Agreed, some people will have zero interest, have an option to hide it

Really should see this sometime in an upcoming patch. This isn't some free to play game where the ads are at least understandable. A month with no talk of making this opt-in isn't looking good.

Does something that's on the screen for maybe two seconds at most while you just press one more button/key to enter the game really such a big deal to you that you want the developers to spend time making an option to conceal it?

Yep. I don't want ads in my games. I REALLY don't want ads in my paid for games. I REEEEALLY don't want ads in a game being prioritized for loading before the buttons that let me enter the game do. These ads are distasteful to see each time I wanna start the game up and irrelevant cause if I wanted to watch temtem instead of playing it I wouldn't be trying to start the game, I would just go to twitch directly. If for any possible reason someone actually WANTED to see them, they should have to go out of their way to turn them on. Bad ads have no right being the default.

It's not ads, it's for promoting people playing this game... i see that differently (maybe because i stream temtem sometimes and i was happy seeing i appeared on this but i'm not a huge streamer making money with this) . i'm not sure to understand why such vehemence about this. I have discovered cool streamer with this too and happy about it

I'd suggest to make this default, so at first you know it exists, but an option to disable it for people who don't want to see it, but not the other way around

I'd rather the coders focus on the more important things they should be working on, like finally making chat not crash every single time the player doesn't interact with it for a couple of minutes, and the upcoming new features like the auction house. The two seconds (and I'm being generous with that, I can click past them in less than half a second) you see these isn't harming you. There's no legitimate reason to be so uptight about this. It's not a gameplay element, nor is it present during actual gameplay.

Game development isn't a linear activity. They can work on more than one thing.

Yes, but this is practically a waste of time to work on compared to far more important things the coders still have to do. If they work on this after they handle all of the big stuff, I don't see why not, but if this would cause even the slightest delay for actual game features and the last island release, my vote is for leaving it alone.
