UPDATE: now updated for Temtem 0.3.7 Alpha!

Hello, fellow tamers!

TesTem is a powerful and user friendly app for all your Temtem damage calculation needs, meant to offer quick and easy to share results. This project is my gift to the amazing Temtem community and a big thanks to Crema for developing this game.

Shout-out to all my fellow club members from FT for their suggestions and testing. The project is in Beta phase, so even if most of the features are already implemented it can still contain bugs and errors.

Please, PM me here or in Discord if you find anything strange or have any suggestions. Also keep in mind that the best experience you'll get is with the Windows version, the Web version is equally functional but may not save your settings and has no way to share the combat log just yet.

TesTem 0.5.2 Beta

What's new?
  • All the new 0.3 Temtem, Techniques and relevant Traits, Gear, Status Conditions for TesTem.
  • All the changes to old Temtem, Techs, Traits, stat calculations and the new Buff system.
  • Hold icons for Techniques and Type filters in the Temtem selection panel.
  • Some fixes and QoL improvements.
Features:
  • Quick and responsible interface.
  • Damage calculation for all techniques and from any Temtem.
  • Secondary effects for all techniques except hold related ones.
  • Types, resistances, weaknesses and synergy.
  • Control over level, stats, buffs, debuffs and status conditions.
  • Control over functional gear and traits.
  • Ability to save and export Temtem builds into lists. *
  • Ability to save the combat results or copy them into clipboard. *
  • Testing mode (no hp/sta consumption) and advanced mode (base stat modification).
  • Tutorial and tooltips to fully exploit the capabilities of the app.
  • Many configurable settings for your preferred experience.
*Currently not supported in web version.

In development:
  • Better support for the Web Version so that you can export and import builds.
  • More quality of life improvements!
Versions:

When in doubt, test’em!

The calc it's pretty cool Eric, good job :)

I've encounter some bugs, the reset button reset the trait always to the first slot (I think you don't want that cause you keep the gear after the reset).
Also, if you have selected a status condition before the reset, you can't select again that status condition, appears unable to select.

What are those buttons for btw?

The left one heals the HP and the right one heals the Stamina. :p

I'll note down those bugs. Many thanks!

As stated in the "in development" section, in the future I may do an android version with slight modifications to the ui and ux.

Barnshe is missing the egg move beta burst. There is also a bug where it desplays level 39 even though the stats are correct for level 48.

Updated TesTem to 0.5.2 Beta, with a huge and needed refactoring and many fixes. Some of them were added in between, such as the HP formula. New bugs may have appeared because of the refactoring, so keep an eye. The refactoring will be very useful for the future of Testem, and will help me avoid many bugs.

Remember to clear caché to see the new version.

This is awesome! However, I can't download the 0.5.2 Beta for Windows; the direct link still gives me the 0.5.1 version.

According to the official Temtem wiki, Raican's stats are wrong. His SpAtt and Att are flipped in TesTem.

Having issues on the latest Firefox and Edge. Constant full black overlay, with flickering upon hover over interactive elements. Site unusable.

Client useable however.

Same here, especially puzzling because there is no information about some kind of update and it worked without problems before.

Hi, this is pretty cool, thanks for it!
Compared to the pokemon damage calc I'm used to, there's a few things it lacks, that make it kinda annoying to use, however. Examples include:
- importing teams
- seeing the outputs for all moves at once / not having to change the active move for a new temtem you want to calc against
- having to click a "calculate" button
- generally the damage done not being as obvious as it might have been, I guess? I realise this isn't a concrete statement really, but while the whole "here's what happens if the two battle" is great, in a 2v2 situation the thing I'm looking for is more realistically "how much do I do" (or maybe "what %age of the whole HP do I do") rather than seeing what a 1v1 situation would look like
- being able to put in whatever moves you want (especially when the game's in active development - I noticed e.g. that "Haito Uchi" isn't an option for Gyalis right now, but is available in-game via egg move. I see the OP states that a version for 0.5.2 is available, but the download link is labeled 0.5.1 - maybe it's just a little out-dated? And it's possible I could fix this if I went digging in the TesTem.pck file, which looks like where all the data's stored, but I'd rather not try to decode the format it's in if I can help it.)
- being able to set statuses manually e.g. setting the opponent poisoned if you expect it to be already poisoned from an ally - this hasn't been a huge issue for me yet, but I imagine "regenerating" would be important to factor in, in some situations

Reading through this again I see it might read like I'm making a big complaint about a bunch of things - sorry if it seems that way! I just wanted to put out a few examples that I thought would do a good job of backing the request I'm making, I definitely don't want to go bashing this tool which is very helpful as it is!
Would it be possible for the source for the damage calculation to be released in some form?
From what I can see, this TesTem means that the formula should be pretty easy to reverse-engineer, so I can't imagine that wanting to keep it secret would stop this. But if that is still the problem, maybe releasing a cut-down binary that returns the damage done given the inputs might still make it easier for me to make my own tools to do these calculations, and possibly put up a website with an easier-to-use UI.
And if the issue is that the frequent updates (and therefore potential changes to the damage formula), I can't imagine updating the snippet of code that's available would be a huge effort compared to updating this tool, and in any case I'd be very happy with just one version of the code and updating it myself to match the in-game updates, since they're every quarter or so.

I understand this might seem like a somewhat weird request. But I'm aware of at least 3 others within the Smogon community who often use custom tools (based on damage calc code, PS! code, or similar open-source accurate sim code) for building teams and other metrics. I'm aware this may not be well-known since the vast majority of these tools aren't released to the public (although a few are - I believe the team breaker was originally a hidden project until at some point the owners decided to release it to the public). But since I'm not really part of the tournament scene on Smogon, and I'm aware of this many, I suspect a large aspect of team tournaments consists of who has the best tools - and I strongly believe that releasing code to help these would improve how competitive the scene as a whole is, which is especially helpful at the current stage when it's easy to make tweaks to improve playability of the final game (and especially so in a few quarters' time, when more temtems have been released, and we get a better picture of where things are going to end up).

Hey! Two things!
1) This project is abandoned, from the looks of it. I wouldn't expect any changes soon.
2) All the formulas are on the wiki and on the official Discord. If you have issues finding them, shoot me a DM.

I'm going to lock this thread to prevent confusion for the time being. Eric, DM me if you continue this project.
